Our Built to Order Subaru performance blocks will help you acheive your next level of power!
Built in house, our series of performance short blocks are precisionly assembled and blueprinted. We utilize precision machining coupled with 3 step quiality control to ensure each short block assembly is within the specs it needs to be to fit it's application. From the street to the track, we are able to meet or exceed the same quality and performance as the bigger brands out there, without the hassle of cross border fees.
Our R800 Closed Deck EJ series short blocks are capable of handling up to 700 whp (close to 800 BHP) with supprorting modifications.
Each block consists of the following
- New or seasoned case halves
- Vapor Honing cleaning (For seasoned case halves)*
- Precision Bore and honing process
- Closed Decking w/ Aluminum Billet Inserts
- New OEM crankshaft
- King Bearing main and rod bearings
- ZRP or Brian Crower Forged connecting rods
- ZRP or Wiseco Forged pistons w/ file fit piston rings
- New OEM Case Bolts
Each block comes with break-in procedure, new oil weight and maintenece interval.
*Vapor Honing is a process that utilizes a water and blasting media mixture that allows cleaning of engine components to brand new appearance without the risk of burning or removing the actual block surface. This is especaially important when working with softer metals like aluminum. All case halves are degreased, bolted together and then have custom block off plates installed to ensure no slurry gets inside the oil galleys. The block is then cleaned out and cyclone cleaned to remove any excess material on the outside of the block. The result is an old block that looks like it just rolled off the assembly line.

Due to the nature and application of this product, please be aware warranty on this product is subjective and at the sole discretion of Ronin Performance. In the event of a failure, Ronin Performance requires the engine to be shipped back at owners expense for a tear-down and assessment.
Original Engine Bearing Failure Requirements:
- For single or dual AVCS engines - AVCS solenoids, cam gears, oil cooler and oil pump MUST be replaced with NEW units and proof of purchase MUST be provided before and warranty will be observed. These new parts must be Genuine OEM or a reputable aftermarket oil pump assembly. No-name brand Ebay, RockAuto or Amazon oil pumps will NOT be accepted as reliable replacements.
- For NON- AVCS engines - Oil Cooler and Oil pump must be replaced with NEW OEM units and proof MUST be provided of purchase. A reputable aftermarket oil pump will be acceptable. No-name brand Ebay, RockAuto or Amazon oil pumps will be NOT accepted as reliable replacements.
Ronin Performance will NOT warranty any engines that have been tampered with, not been broken in properly, pushed beyond thier rated power, overheated, not tuned by a professional tuner, or have old failing parts put back on (IE, a turbocharger with failed oil seals). All Ronin Performance blocks come with tamper proof marks and heat tags. Ronin Performance will immediatley deny any warranty if any seals or tags have been removed or tampered with.
